On May 23, 2025, SDK Plus PENABUR Cirebon proudly launched their digital magazine, Wonderful Indonesia, showcasing a heartfelt tribute to the nation’s rich cultural diversity. As part of the P5 (Project-Based Learning) program, students from Grades 1 through 6 participated in a vibrant celebration featuring cultural exhibitions, traditional performances, and educational displays.
The event kicked off with the Mini Indonesian Museum, where students transformed the school hall into a captivating cultural showcase. Each booth represented one of Indonesia’s many tribes, offering replicas of traditional houses, musical instruments, clothing, and crafts from regions like Aceh, Batak, Bali, Papua, Bugis, and Java.
Following the museum tour, parents and guests gathered in the basketball court for a series of live performances. Each grade brought a different corner of Indonesia to life:
-
Grade 1 performed Legenda Ilaurang, a touching Bugis folktale about strength and acceptance.
-
Grade 2 introduced audiences to Wonderful Papua, portraying the island’s culture through dance and storytelling.
-
Grade 3 dramatized the legend of Kebo Iwa from Bali, emphasizing themes of heroism and community.
-
Grade 4 staged The Brave Warrior of Aceh, highlighting the spirit of resistance and unity through a powerful mix of acting and the traditional Saman dance.
-
Grade 5 retold The Legend of Lake Toba from North Sumatra, combining music, dance, and drama to explain the creation of this iconic lake.
-
Grade 6 closed the event with The Epic of Love & War, a mesmerizing adaptation of the Ramayana, spotlighting Javanese heritage through traditional movement and classical storytelling.
The digital magazine beautifully documents each performance, complete with cast lists, synopses, and vibrant visuals. It serves as a proud reflection of the students’ dedication and the school’s commitment to nurturing national pride and creative expression.
As the school year draws to a close, Wonderful Indonesia stands as a lasting tribute to cultural appreciation, collaboration, and youthful passion—truly embodying the spirit of Indonesia in every page.
